Sabrina Carpenter looks to be bringing a different type of rhythm to Fortnite
Another day, another genre of game is being added to Fortnite
Fortnite the behemoth game developed by Epic Games always looks to be expanding in what the players can do outside of just playing Battle Royale, originally adding the Guitar Hero/Rock Band inspired Fortnite Festival, a Lego themed survival crafting experience called Lego Fortnite Odyssey, the hectic racing Rocket Racing and the Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant inspired Ballistics game modes. That trend looks to be continuing with the announcement of Sabrina Carpenter’s Jam Stage takeover which has the players supporting the “Espresso” singer in ensuring a concert goes off without a hitch, with the reward for the highest ranking players having their in-game avatars take a photo with the virtual Sabrina Carpenter.
The part that piqued my interest was the change from playing instruments that are common in Fortnite Festival to instead what looks like almost like a DDR inspired game, matching to the beat and filling up your heart meter, once this is full you can become the “Dance Leader” and aiming to lead the backup dancers. If you don’t want to dance you can instead take up another role “Special Effects Pro”, or “Video Artist” where you will be contributing to the show in other ways.

While this is only a temporary game mode, running from 30th May 2025 to 16th June 2025, it could certainly prove to be a new way of playing if it proves to be popular enough.
